WALLENBERG VIRTUAL TOUR
Did you miss our open house on September 24th? Don’t worry we flimed it all.
Take a look at this video for a sneak peak of the school and surrounding areas and to hear what interested parents have to say.
Wallenberg Academy has a new school crest!
On the escutcheon (shield) of the coat-of-arms, the field (background colours) are light green and dark green, which compliment the city colours of Côte-St-Luc. The white space over the field create the blazon, a stylized “W” and “A”. The green shapes produced also correspond to traditional heraldic charges (geometric shapes) with a modern twist.
Keeping it simple and without much decoration, was the goal as the true school identity has yet to be established. With the opening of the school in 2014, the crest could be redesigned with the input of the future students and staff, and the current crest could be used as a base for a more elaborate design.
Raoul Wallenberg was a Swedish architect and diplomat who through his bravery and moral courage saved over 100,000 Jews from the Holocaust. He is honoured as a hero all over the world, including Canada where he was made an honourary citizen in 1985.
